Seatrium ‘s FPSO FLEXHull 1500K-M design has officially received approval in principle(AiP) from the American Bureau of Shipping(ABS), consolidating its position as a benchmark in offshore production solutions for complex environments.

The objective of the FPSO FLEXHull 1500K-M

During the ABS Offshore 2025 official reception at the FPSO World Congress, this recognition was announced, validating the technical feasibility and operational capability of the new design. FLEXHull 1500K-M is presented as a highly adaptable floating production, storage and offloading(FPSO) unit intended for deepwater operations up to 2,500 meters.

The FLEXHull 1500K-M vessel stands out for its modular and flexible approach, allowing it to be customized according to the required process loads. With a storage capacity in excess of 1.5 million barrels of oil and daily processing of up to 120,000 barrels, this FPSO is optimized to maximize operational efficiency in complex fields such as those offshore Brazil.

The unit can carry loads of up to 80,000 metric tons, integrates versatile mooring systems with up to 20 connection points and is designed for an operational life of 25 years under compliance with international regulations such as IMO, MARPOL and ABS standards.

The ABS approval recognizes the technical robustness of the FLEXHull 1500K-M, and at the same time, supports Seatrium’s vision towards more efficient, adaptable energy production aligned with environmental challenges.
