Un transportador de gas libre de carbono

At the Gastech 2025 conference in Milan, Everllence, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries-Engine Machinery Division(HHI-EMD) and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard(HMD) announced a strategic collaboration to design a next-generation ammonia-fueled gas transporter.

A carbon-free gas carrier

This project will focus on the development of a medium-sized gas tanker equipped with the B&W G50ME-LGIA two-stroke bifuel B&W engine, a technology developed by Everllence that uses ammonia as the main fuel.

The initiative leverages Everllence’s expertise in dual-fuel engines together with HD Hyundai’s shipbuilding capabilities. This alliance aims to offer a concrete solution to the environmental challenges of the maritime industry, particularly in the transport of gases.

The use of ammonia as an energy vector in maritime propulsion has generated great expectations within the sector. The signatories of the agreement mentioned that this cooperation responds to the growing demand for sustainable alternatives, and puts the three companies at the forefront of energy innovation applied to naval transportation.

The choice of Gastech 2025 as the scenario for the signing of the agreement was not accidental. This event brings together the main players in the gas industry, making it an ideal environment to present technological advances aimed at global decarbonization.
