Fugro has secured a key contract to carry out a characterization program in a deepwater gas field in Southeast Asia. This project is set to be the company’s largest geotechnical and geophysical study in the Asia-Pacific region. Asia-Pacific regionreflecting the growing momentum of offshore developments in this area.
Gas field development in the Asia-Pacific region
The program integrates specialized land, coastal and marine geophysical and geotechnical survey services. Geophysical data acquisition will begin in the third quarter of 2025 and will extend for approximately one year. Subsequently, testing and consulting will continue through 2027 to ensure accurate and detailed results.
The terrain model built from this information will support site planning and engineering design with near real-time data. This will facilitate agile decisions by the engineers involved in the project and optimize collaboration with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
This contract has been largely integrated into Fugro’ s order book for the next twelve months until March 2025, confirming the company’s good track record in complex projects in the region.
