Spanish Association of Non-Destructive Testing

AEND certifies NDT personnel with CERTIAEND, offers UNE EN ISO 9712 training and participates in European and global standards.

The Spanish Association of Non Destructive Testing was constituted on September 27, 1988 as a continuation of the Non Destructive Testing Committee of the AEC.

On December 23, 1997, CERTIAEND (Certification Body) was accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) for the certification of personnel in Non Destructive Testing.

Goals

  • Promote and facilitate the implementation of NDT management techniques in public and private industries.
  • To promote the professional development and continuing education of its members in the field of NDT.
  • Promote research in the different methods of NDT.
  • Certify personnel in NDT through the CERTIAEND certification body.
  • Collaborate in the presentation of standards and specifications corresponding to their specialty with the appropriate national and international organizations.
  • To cooperate with the public administration and other public or private entities in all matters related to the promotion of NDT and to transmit problems to them.

Organization

General assembly

  • Members of the Spanish Association of Non Destructive Testing.
  • Maximum authority of the association.
  • Its agreements are binding on all members.

  • Executive body of the AEND, acts by delegation and on behalf of the General Assembly.

  • In order to make the Governing Board operational, there is a Management Committee elected by the Governing Board and ratified by the General Assembly.

CERTIAEND

  • It offers certification of persons performing non-destructive testing, in accordance with the requirements of the UNE EN ISO 9712:2023 standard.
  • Complies with ISO/IEC 17024.
  • Accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC).
  • It functions as a third party system.
  • Signatory of the EFNDT mutual recognition agreement, which guarantees the recognition of the certification in national associations of the European Union.
  • Signatory of the ICNDT (International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing) mutual recognition agreement.
  • Notified Body to demonstrate compliance with the European Pressure Vessel Directive, in relation to the certification of NDT personnel.
