As of yesterday, the first Vestas V236-15.0 MW wind turbine is already installed at the He Dreiht wind farm. This wind farm, which will reach an impressive capacity of 960 megawatts, is a key pillar in Germany’s commitment to renewable energy.

A project without subsidies, but full of innovation

With 64 wind turbines distributed in the middle of the North Sea, some 85 kilometers from Borkum and 110 kilometers from Helgoland, He Dreiht promises to supply about 1.1 million households. All this without a single euro of state funding, thanks to the vision of the company, one of Europe’s energy giants.

The main protagonist is the V236-15.0 MW turbine from Vestasturbine, installed by the Wind Orca after a voyage from Esbjerg, Denmark. A single turn of its rotor can generate enough electricity for four homes for a whole day.

A coordinated, high-precision operation

More than 500 employees and 60 vessels are working simultaneously on the construction and internal wiring of the park. From its Hamburg office, EnBW is coordinating the effort, setting a pace that will change the German energy matrix.

49.9% of the project is owned by a consortium of investors comprising Allianz Capital Partners, AIP and Norges Bank Investment Management. This ownership structure reinforces confidence in the future of offshore energy.

He Dreiht wind farm boosts energy transition

EnBW seeks to expand its renewable production from the current 6.6 GW to more than 10 GW by 2030. The He Dreiht wind farm is the most ambitious card in its bid to achieve climate neutrality. climate neutrality by 2035, phasing out coal.

“We are honored to provide our flagship technology to EnBW on this landmark project,” commented Nils de Baar, Vestas president for Northern and Central Europe. The collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to a more secure, affordable and sustainable energy system.
