The Port of Huelva is positioning itself as one of the epicenters of the energy transition in Europe. Moeve, a leader in biofuels, together with Exolum, a leader in energy logistics, have announced a joint investment of €300 million.

This sum will be used to build new, key infrastructure for the development of the La Rábida Energy Park in Palos de la Frontera, which will house a second-generation biofuel plant .

A new dock for the Port of Huelva

The Muelle Sur project includes the construction of a new loading and unloading terminal that will significantly modernize the infrastructure of the Huelva Outer Port. Measuring 511 meters, the new dock will optimize the port’s logistics operations, facilitating the combined loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products. This development aligns with Moeve’s objectives to lead the decarbonization of the energy sector .

Furthermore, the multi-purpose pipeline will connect the energy park facilities to the dock, replacing the old pipelines and improving operational flexibility. Furthermore, this upgrade will strengthen the safety of port operations.

Exolum and Moeve investment in biofuels

With this investment, Exolum strengthens its position in liquid fuel logistics in Spain, while Moeve continues its commitment to innovation in the energy sector. This development not only facilitates the distribution of biofuels but also underscores its commitment to sustainable energy.
