Technology and defense company Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) and underwater robotics specialist Nauticus Robotics (NASDAQ: KITT) have strengthened their relationship through a strategic alliance aimed at developing next-generation autonomous underwater systems.
This collaboration builds on a previous partnership between the two companies, which demonstrated efficient execution and outstanding synergy. With this new alliance, both companies seek to leverage their joint experience to enhance the development of autonomous technologies capable of operating in complex underwater environments.
Innovation in underwater robotics
Nauticus Robotics will contribute its expertise in the design and manufacture of unmanned underwater vehicles , highlighting its Aquanaut platform , an advanced system that allows inspection and manipulation missions on the seabed without the need for cables or support vessels. In addition, it will integrate its ToolKITT software , a technology that improves the navigation and decision-making capacity of underwater robots.
Leidos will provide its experience in systems integration and defense solutions, ensuring that the technology developed meets operational requirements in both the commercial and military spheres.
Applications and benefits
The main objective of this alliance is to reduce operating costs and improve the efficiency of submarine operations , allowing the deployment of autonomous vehicles in various applications, from ocean exploration to security and defense missions.
