DRIFT Oceans Energy, the British startup that pioneered the production of offshore green hydrogenhas successfully closed its seed funding round, securing £4.65 million. The CEO of DRIFTBen Medland underscored the importance of this funding in advancing its vision of “Oceans of Energy. During the recent UN International Conference on Small Island Developing States, Medland highlighted DRIFT’s potential to transform energy production in sea-dependent regions.

With the backing of Octopus Ventures and Blue Action Accelerator, DRIFT Oceans plans to accelerate the development and construction of its first vessel, expecting to launch the large-scale production of green hydrogen large-scale green hydrogen production in 2024.
