From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conferenceRichard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Andrew Fay, Product Manager of HAMAMATSU CORPORATION, a prestigious Japan-based company specializing in X-ray technology.

Global Presence, Japanese Manufacturing

Although based in Japan, HAMAMATSU maintains a strong presence in the United States, with offices in New Jersey and San Jose, California. “Although our products are manufactured in Japan, we offer service, sales and demonstrations from our office and X-ray lab in New Jersey” Andrew shared with us.

Innovative High Resolution Products

Innovation is central to HAMAMATSU and Andrew introduced us to their Micro Focus X-Ray source tube, capable of emitting very high resolution X-rays. “These are detected where we have the detector, offering accuracies down to 48 microns” he explained. In addition, he showed us the flexible simulator, essential for converting X-rays into a digital signal, which ensures that no X-rays are lost during the initial conversion.

A Meeting Point Hamamatsu

This conference is not only a place to find new customers but also to connect with existing ones. From battery inspections, piping to electronics, everyone here speaks our language, which is X-ray inspection and nondestructive testing. ” Andrew highlighted.
