New Orleans, known for its vibrant energy and hospitality, became the epicenter of innovation in materials protection and performance during the AMPP 2024 event, organized by the prestigious Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP). Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP, highlighted the importance of the event, which brought together more than 6,000 attendees and nearly 400 exhibitors, setting a new record for the organization.
A new membership plan: An event full of new opportunities
One of the most significant initiatives announced was the introduction of a new membership plan aimed at making essential resources more accessible to professionals worldwide. This plan not only reduces costs but also enhances the value offered to members by including unlimited access to industry standards in a downloadable format. The new plan reflects AMPP’s commitment to supporting its community in adapting to the evolving challenges of the industry, including the growing demand for sustainable and innovative solutions.
We are, to my knowledge, the only association globally that’s lowering their prices. So we’re lowering our membership prices, but we’re increasing the value to the members by including our standards at unlimited downloadable version.
Thomas commented during the interview.
The event also highlighted critical topics such as sustainability and artificial intelligence, underscoring their growing impact on the materials protection industry. This session is expected to draw significant attention from key industry players eager to leverage these technologies for future growth
A year of leadership and global growth
Thomas, who is in his first year at the helm of the organization, shared some of the most notable accomplishments. Over the past year, AMPP has expanded its global reach with the opening of four new chapters in strategic locations, including Doha, Iraq and Australia, the latter being the organization’s 100th chapter. Additionally, the company has equipped a record number of professionals with essential skills and credentials through its training and certification programs, preparing them to meet the evolving challenges of material protection and performance.
We have three new chapters. I want to make a shout-out for actually four. We have a new chapter in Doha, a new chapter in Iraq, Australia. We launched it as our 100th chapter.
Thomas commented.
