Specifically, crude oil production reached 3.4 million barrels per day , while gas production reached 150 million m 3 per day . In December of the same year, the country recorded a production of 4.5 million barrels of oil and natural gas equivalent per day.

Production in the pre-salt, an exploration area in deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean, has reached historic levels with 3.3 million barrels per day, representing 75.2% of Brazil’s total production.
