SEAWING expands its SPM technology to Latin America

During the SLOM 2025 event, held in Panama, Sirajaldeen Alabeedi, president and founder of SeaWing Company, shared in an interview the main technological developments and expansion plans of his company. Headquartered in Libya and with global operations, SeaWing has established itself as one of the four manufacturers in the world specialized in SPM (Single Point Mooring) systems, and the only one with a comprehensive approach to EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) solutions.

From bearings to offshore solutions

SeaWing's history began in 2011 with a focus on selling industrial components such as bearings and belts. However, their growth was organic and strategic: they ventured into rubber products, then into marine hoses and eventually evolved into experts in SPM mooring systems for offshore terminals.

This path reflects a constant adaptation to the demands of the oil sector, to position itself as a provider of critical solutions for the transfer of crude oil, condensate and liquid energy products in coastal areas and deep waters.

One of the four global SPM manufacturers

The SPM systems are floating structures that enable the safe loading and unloading of products such as crude oil, gas or refined products between ships and shore terminals. Worldwide, only four companies manufacture these systems, and SeaWing is part of this exclusive group.

What sets SeaWing apart is its turnkey model. "We don't just sell the equipment. We deliver it, install it, remove the old system and stay at the terminal until the first loading is done on the vessel," explains Alabeedi. This comprehensive solution includes a 25-year warranty, which is unheard of in the market.

Ammonia and LPG-ready buoys

The major innovation that Alabeedi presented at SLOM 2025 was a new generation of SPM buoys capable of handling highly demanding products such as ammonia and LPG gas, as well as crude oil and condensate. These compounds require much more stringent materials, designs and safety standards.

In addition, these buoys have dual transfer systems, allowing the simultaneous loading of two different products, such as crude oil on one line and diesel or benzine on the other, improving operational and logistical efficiency at the terminals.

Latin America, a new strategic focus

SeaWing has operated mainly in North Africa and the Middle East, with projects in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia. But the next step is already underway: the company will open its first Latin American site next week, in São Paulo, Brazil.

"We see Latin America as a strategic market with great potential. From Brazil to Argentina, including Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Panama, there are a lot of terminals that can benefit from our EPC solutions."

said Sirajaldeen Alabeedi.

Long-term vision and regional commitment

With a clear commitment to quality, specialized engineering and adaptability, SeaWing expects to become a relevant partner for Latin American energy terminals. Its participation in SLOM 2025 not only showed its product, but also its commitment to regional integration.

"We're not coming to sell and disappear. We want to build relationships, be present, and tell success stories at the next SLOM, wherever it takes place."

concluded Sirajaldeen Alabeedi.
