During the PANNDT 2025 conference, the Canadian Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (CINDE) hosted a gala evening where the industry’s technical and professional community was able to enjoy a space for meeting, recognition and strategic planning. Wendy Hind, Test Centre Supervisor at CINDE, was one of the key people responsible for organizing the event.
Teamwork: key to success
The gala, held at the Niagara Falls Convention Center, brought together participants from all over the Americas and was noted for its impeccable logistical execution. According to Wendy Hind, one of the biggest challenges was coordinating the performances, some of which came from Argentina.
It’s been a team effort between CINDE and the venue staff here at the Niagara Falls Convention Center. So yes, we’ve been very lucky with everyone and everyone has worked very well together, so it’s been going great.
Wendy Hind.
The choice of venue responded to both logistical constraints and the need for an adequate space for the magnitude of the event. Despite the challenges, the association’s team managed to consolidate an experience that combined efficiency and warmth.

The challenge of attracting young talent
Beyond the celebration, the interview made it clear that one of the critical issues in the industry is the need to train new generations in non-destructive testing. The final day of the event will be focused on panels that will address how to motivate and integrate young people into the NDT industry. NDT industry.
I have been talking about how we are going to bring young people into NDT and how to encourage them to get trained in NDT, which is a big problem in the NDT industry right now.
Wendy Hind.
The day closed with ceremonies where different societies in the sector shared their progress and future projects, consolidating an active network committed to the continuity of knowledge.
An event that builds community and vision
PANNDT 2025 has been much more than a series of technical talks, through events like this gala, CINDE demonstrates its commitment to a strong, interconnected and forward-looking industry. The combination of celebration and planning has made it clear that the NDT community grows stronger when it celebrates, but also when it thinks about its legacy.
