JIFMAR consolidates offshore maintenance with multi-cat vessels
French company JIFMAR consolidates its presence in Latin American terminals thanks to integrated operation and maintenance solutions based on efficient technology and multi-cat vessels. In the framework of the SLOM 2025 event, the Inspenet team spoke with Tanguy Dennielou, Commercial Director of the JIFMAR Group, who shared the company's strategic overview of the regional expansion, the energy transition and the shares occupied by ships in its operations.
Strategic presence in Latin America
JIFMAR has been executing projects in countries such as Mexico, Guyana and Suriname for several years, with the clear objective of establishing long-term commercial relationships with terminals in the region. Active participation in SLOM seeks to reinforce this presence, consolidate trust with new clients and offer tailor-made solutions adapted to local conditions.
Dennielou stressed the importance of accompanying operators from the design of inspection plans to on-site execution, integrating local technical teams and international logistics capabilities.
Operational efficiency beyond chartering
Unlike many companies in the sector, the company is not limited to vessel leasing; its proposal is based on complete operation and maintenance services for offshore terminals, including SPM, CALM, multiple buoys and specialized docks.
The technical pillar of this efficiency is the multi-cat vessels, versatile vessels that operate as "floating Swiss army knives". Equipped for complex maneuvering, diving support, hoisting and anchoring operations, these vessels make it possible to reduce asset downtime, optimize interventions and minimize unforeseen costs for operators.
JIFMAR operates more than 65 units of this type, accompanied by engineering teams, divers and specialists that guarantee a turnkey service.
Alternative fuels and sustainability
The company is retrofitting its fleet with clean technologies according to the operating profile of each vessel. From 100% electric vessels for coastal operations, to hydrogen or biofuel units for more demanding stretches.
Dennielou explained that the choice of fuel depends on the context: "There is no magic fuel, it all depends on the use case". The company even has a cargo sailboat crossing the Atlantic from Europe to South America as part of its innovation strategy.
On the horizon is the use of ammonia as energy for offshore terminals, a technology that JIFMAR is already watching with interest, especially in combination with CALM and CBM buoys.

Fleet diversity and adaptability
JIFMAR's fleet covers vessels from 10 to 120 meters, which allows selecting the ideal type of vessel for each operation, adapting technology and fuel to the environment and the client's needs. The multi-cat vessels stand out in this ecosystem for their flexibility and performance, being able to intervene in preventive maintenance, underwater inspection, anchor replacement or assistance to oil tankers, becoming JIFMAR's operational standard in high traffic offshore terminals.
Contact and future projection
JIFMAR remains steadfast in its goal to be a relevant player in maintenance and operational efficiency in Latin American terminals. Its presence in SLOM 2025 is part of a long-term positioning strategy.
