With the sea of the Bay of Panama as a backdrop, LatinCORR 2025 and the Panamerican Corrosion Conference brought together leaders and experts from the corrosion protection industry for the first time in the Panamanian capital. This event, organized by the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), symbolizes both a technical meeting and a historic moment with the election of Juan Caballero as the first Latin American to chair AMPP in its 83-year history.

A space for integrating and projecting the regional industry

For the first time, LatinCORR will be held jointly with the Panamerican Corrosion Conference, integrating South America, Central America and the Caribbean in the same space for dialogue, learning and updating on cathodic protection and industrial coatings. This integration raises the visibility and importance of the specific challenges of Latin America and the Caribbean in the global scenario of the corrosion industry.

The Latin American corrosion conference features around 60 technical presentations, 5 expert panels, 2 courses and 2 workshops, designed to foster knowledge exchange and networking among professionals, engineers, coatings manufacturers and service providers. International participation is also notable, with European experts attending, highlighting the flow of high-level technical knowledge to Latin America and the Caribbean.

A strategic platform for emerging markets

For AMPP, LatinCORR 2025 represents a strategic platform that seeks to bring closer and support emerging markets in the region, such as Central America and the Caribbean, which historically have had less access to international standards and advanced corrosion protection technologies. This edition of the event is an opportunity for countries and companies throughout Latin America to update their knowledge, modernize their practices and align themselves with the best international references.

We had two days of meetings to continue talking, to continue devising strategies that will really help us to continue scaling the organization globally and to continue sharing, to continue approaching industries such as Latin America […] to raise the level so that everyone can really participate and be part of this growth.

Panama as a regional epicenter

In short, AMPP LatinCORR + Panamerican Corrosion Conference positions Panama as a regional epicenter for the corrosion industry. The invitation is still open to all those interested in being part of this unique experience and contributing to the strengthening of the industry through knowledge and international collaboration.
