In the morning, Panama City became the Latin American epicenter of materials protection with the opening of LatinCORR 2025, a key event for the energy and industrial industry. Juan Caballero, president of the AMPP Board of Directors, shared the highlights of this successful first day.
From early on, the atmosphere in the halls of the event was defined by an attendance of close to 200 people, the presence of 19 exhibitors and the participation of leaders from all over Latin America. Juan Caballero summarized the day as a total success, highlighting the support of the attendees and the professional organization.
Activity highlights
One of the most anticipated moments was the keynote address by Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP, who presented the organization’s global vision and its commitment to the corrosion industry. According to Caballero, this approach of AMPP to the Latin American markets is one of the most relevant achievements of the event.
Later, the exhibition area allowed direct contact between companies and professionals in the sector, while expert panels offered high-level technical analysis, with representatives from Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil and other countries in the region.
Training and technical education
At the end of the day, the poster contest by students from the Technological University of Panama was a highlight, a component that Juan Caballero described as “novel and valuable” in events of this type, reinforcing the objective of encouraging academic training in the region.
In addition, AMPP has designed a series of short technical training courses, such as “Coatings Fundamentals”, focused on surface preparation and application of coatings, and practical workshops on quality control. This training offer will continue during the event, with contents such as “Corrosion Basics” and corrosion monitoring.
LatinCORR 2025 also confirms its role as a reference meeting point for the region’s technical and professional capital.
