Internal corrosion is one of the most persistent challenges in the operation of pipelines and process equipment in the energy sector. In this context, the Canadian company Caproco has established itself as a global reference thanks to its experience accumulated over more than five decades and its practical approach oriented to the design of solutions that allow controlling this phenomenon without compromising production.
Brad Letwin, Business Development at Caproco, explained during the AMPP event how the company has managed to position itself internationally by combining specialized engineering with a customer-focused service model. Letwin pointed out that what they do is place devices inside pipelines to obtain internal condition data, either with corrosion coupons, electronic probes or injection systems.
Access to the interior without compromising pressure
One of the key points of the Caproco system lies in its technical methods of accessing the inside of the pipelines, designed for different pressure levels and operating conditions. Letwin described three main mechanisms:
- Fixed connection (threaded): Requires a thread allet adapter that can be easily pressurized and installed, ideal for systems where the section can be temporarily isolated.
- Welded Fitting: Designed to be installed directly on the line by welding. This method is robust and withstands pressures up to 6,000 PSI.
- Valved system: Allows insertion or removal of devices through a valve without stopping the flow. This system includes safety elements such as clamps and mechanical locks.
The diversity of insertion options allows operators to select the most appropriate system for their infrastructure, without compromising the operational integrity of the asset.

Operational continuity as a priority
One of the company’s most relevant competitive advantages is its ability to perform maintenance, inspection and data collection tasks without stopping production. In sectors such as oil and gas, every minute of downtime represents significant losses, so solutions designed to operate under pressure are highly valued.
The key is to do this without system interruption so that production does not stop.

Global presence with a Canadian stamp
Although the company maintains its operations center in Canada, its presence extends to any region where there is energy activity. In addition, its presence at trade shows such as AMPP reinforces its commitment to innovation and direct contact with its technical customers around the world.
Anywhere there is an oil and gas sector, you can basically find a green plug, which means Caproco is there.

This combination of global reach, technological development and seamless operational capability makes Caproco a key partner for companies implementing internal corrosion monitoring programs as part of their integrity strategy.
