During the AMPP event opening, Johnny Smatana , head of business development for oil and gas in North America at Integrated Global Services (IGS) , offered a detailed overview of the coating technology solutions the company has consistently promoted for more than three decades . Smatana explained that the products highlighted by IGS at the fair were two specialized coatings: a high-emissivity ceramic coating for fire heaters and a metallic coating applied by thermal spray, known as High-Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) . Remarkably, both have maintained the same formulation for 35 years , during which time they have accumulated results and validations across multiple industries.

Efficient technology from the inside out
Ceramic coating , designed to improve heat transfer and reduce oxidation in fired heater tubes, helps increase efficiency without compromising equipment integrity. It has a lifespan of approximately two maintenance cycles due to the limited density that can be applied without affecting thermal performance.
On the other hand, the HVTS metallic coating allows expensive materials such as Hastelloy C276 to be simulated in carbon steel vessels, without the need for pre- or post-weld heat treatment. This solution is maintained throughout the equipment’s lifespan , making maintenance in highly corrosive environments more accessible.
