EFER ENDOSCOPY and technological innovation in industrial inspection

Share

Lucas Roiron, Product Support Technician at EFER ENDOSCOPY, shared details about the work of this French company specialized in industrial visual inspection devices. With more than four decades of experience, the company has established itself as a reference in the development of borescopes and endoscopic systems for sectors where precision is not optional, such as aerospace and nuclear energy.

Located in the south of France, EFER ENDOSCOPY designs optical tools that enable nondestructive inspection (NDT) on complex components such as turbines, piping or cooling systems, presenting solutions that combine detailed engineering with a strategic vision oriented towards quality, traceability and regulatory compliance.

Optical solutions for inspection in demanding environments

During the interview at the ASNT 2025 event, Roiron showed some of the borescopes developed by EFER ENDOSCOPY, highlighting an extremely thin model designed specifically for inspecting aircraft engine blades. Unlike traditional digital cameras, this equipment uses an optical system that allows the operator to manually adjust the focus and directly observe the inside of a part.

The company offers larger diameter borescopes and white light and ultraviolet illumination systems that go beyond tools for direct visual use. These UV systems, essential for detecting internal defects in aviation and energy materials, far exceed industry standards with intensities exceeding the required 1,000 microwatts.

The future comes with artificial intelligence

One of the most interesting points shared by Roiron was the intention to integrate artificial intelligence into inspection systems. Although analysis is currently based on direct observation and manual measurements, the company is developing new solutions that will allow processing large volumes of data and identifying failure patterns in real time.

This digital transformation will be presented, he explained, at the upcoming ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) meeting. The incorporation of AI represents a major shift in the industry, enabling faster, more accurate and less operator-dependent inspection.

A plan to expand into the Americas

The EFER ENDOSCOPY brand, although widely recognized in Europe and Asia, is expanding its presence in Latin America, the United States and Canada as part of its internationalization strategy. To consolidate this growth, in the United States they collaborate with NIT-NDT, their official distributor, which allows them to establish a technical and commercial network closer to local users. Likewise, their participation in international trade fairs has been crucial to open new sales channels and connect with strategic sectors such as the oil, energy and manufacturing industries.

A technical overview with a global vision

The interview with Lucas Roiron makes it clear that EFER ENDOSCOPY not only masters optical technology applied to inspection, but is also projecting its future into territories where digitalization will be very important. The integration of artificial intelligence, and the opening to new markets position this company as a relevant player within the world of industrial NDT.
