From Villahermosa, Mexico, during the IMCORRS 2023 event, Antonio Zavarce from Inspenet interviewed Eckhard Hinrichsen, Country Manager for DNV in Mexico. They are dedicated to the entire energy chain, from renewable energies to oil and gas, whether in initial or final processes.
With more than 35 years of experience with DNV, 20 of which have been in Mexico, Hinrichsen leads the company’s efforts in the country’s energy system.
Hinrichsen described the wide range of services they offer for asset integrity management in the oil and gas sector, including inspection, certification, quality control and regulatory compliance. They are accredited by Mexican authorities such as ASEA and CREA. They also provide knowledge and certifications required by national authorities.
In addition, they have specialized tools and software to improve the efficiency and precision of their services. Hinrichsen highlighted the “Synergy” software, designed for the management of the integrity of oil pipelines, which is already being implemented for Senagas in Mexico.
Finally, Hinrichsen mentioned the company’s laboratory in Columbus, Ohio, which specializes in corrosion analysis and accident cause analysis, reflecting DNV’s global capability to address technical challenges.
Projections for DNV
Regarding the global trend towards net-zero emissions, DNV not only aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 internally, but also offers external services to help other companies develop and comply with their ESG plans.
