As AMPP 2025 kicked off in Nashville, we spoke with Rommel Gil, Senior Manager of Global Operations, who discussed how emerging industries are increasingly taking up space at this landmark technical event.

A new profile of participants

This edition is expected to attract more than 6,000 attendees over three days, which is already a remarkable statistic. However, what is truly striking is that 20% of those registered come from emerging industries. This percentage reflects a shift in the audience profile and anticipates new dynamics within the sector.

Gil noted that 20% of this comes from entirely new industrial ecosystems, and these sectors are not only emerging strongly, but have also begun to take seriously the challenges related to material protection and corrosion management.

Technologies that lead the change

Among the notable sectors gaining ground in AMPP 2025 are:

  • Electric vehicles, including driverless vehicles
  • Space tourism
  • Manufacturing of new generation batteries
  • Systems interconnected through the Internet of Things (IoT)

These industries have in common that they all depend on advanced materials and cutting-edge technology, which also entails new challenges in terms of durability, resistance, and protection against extreme environments.

Corrosion as a shared challenge

As these technologies develop, concerns also arise about the materials they are made of. Gil emphasized that even in such disruptive sectors as those mentioned, corrosion remains a pressing issue. This makes AMPP an ideal platform for connecting developers of new technologies with experts in corrosion prevention, protective coatings, and solutions.

An essential meeting point

The event not only offers exhibitions and technology launches. It also provides opportunities for training, networking, and technical exchange among professionals from around the world. Gil commented that when an industry begins to show interest in prevention, it’s because there’s already a mature ecosystem behind it, highlighting the key role of the AMPP as an integrating entity.

With this edition, it is clear that AMPP 2025 not only represents the continuity of a global technical event, but also its evolution as a space of convergence for the industries of the future.
