At the ASNT 2024 conference, held at the vibrant Caesars Forum in Las Vegas, the American Welding Society (AWS) presented itself as one of the most influential organizations in the field of welding. With approximately 70,000 members worldwide, AWS reaffirms its mission to advance welding science and technology, highlighting its relevance to the nondestructive testing (NDT) industry.
Founded in 1919 as a nonprofit organization, the American Welding Society is dedicated to advancing the application of welding and related processes, including cutting, heat spreading, and soldering. Richard, AWS Vice President, explained the crucial importance of welding for structural safety across multiple industries, as any construction project depends on the proper fusion and assembly of materials before proceeding to nondestructive testing, a critical step to ensure the integrity of structures.
“Anything you are going to build requires material that will be assembled and welded together. It will then undergo non-destructive testing to ensure it meets safety and quality standards,” Richard stressed during his speech.
With over 2,200 attendees and 210 specialized exhibitors, ASNT 2024 is the ideal setting for industry professionals to explore innovations and share knowledge in NDT. With over 100 scheduled technical sessions, the event fosters an in-depth exchange on advanced methods, regulations, and recent developments in the industry. In addition to highlighting its training and professional development initiatives, the American Welding Society is calling on industry professionals to inspire the next generation of welding experts by offering scholarship opportunities and development programs.
Richard emphasized how the American Welding Society provides the tools necessary for welding professionals and their related fields to thrive, ensuring continued support for future generations to take on key roles in the industry.
ASNT 2024 continues through October 24 , offering attendees and exhibitors a dynamic platform to connect, collaborate, and learn about the latest trends in NDT in the entertainment capital of the world. AWS invites all attendees to stop by its booth and explore the opportunities it offers for welding professionals.
