Woodside and PETRONAS Strengthen Their International Cooperation

The agreement demonstrates the shared ambition of both companies to strengthen their collaboration across the LNG value chain. This relationship aims to facilitate Malaysia’s access to a reliable and flexible LNG supply, as demand increases in the Asia-Pacific region.

Woodside’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Abbotsford, welcomed the agreement with PETRONAS, one of Asia’s most recognized energy companies. According to Abbotsford, this agreement reflects the growing global confidence in the Louisiana LNG project, demonstrating Woodside as a secure energy provider for the region.

For his part, Shamsairi Ibrahim, Vice President of LNG Marketing Trading at PETRONAS, expressed his enthusiasm for this new step in the collaboration with Woodside. Ibrahim stated that this agreement will support energy security in Malaysia and contribute to the sustainability of the region.

This agreement highlights the ability of Woodside and PETRONAS to work together in the sale and purchase of LNG, and in research and development initiatives.
