The deployment of Waymo in Dallas marks a new stage in urban mobility in the state of Texas. Starting in 2026, residents of this city will be able to access a fully autonomous transportation service, operating 24 hours a day, through the company’s app.
Waymo’s autonomous cabs now in Dallas
Dallas has been selected for its dense metropolitan environment and favorable urban infrastructure. Waymo currently provides more than 250,000 paid rides and travels millions of miles each week in five cities. Dallas will join that network, along with other planned cities such as Miami y Washington, D.C.consolidating its growth in the United States.
Partnership with Avis for fleet management
The Dallas operation is supported by a new multi-year multi-year alliance with Avis Budget Group. This collaboration will enable Waymo to efficiently scale its fleet through Avis’ expertise in maintenance, vehicle availability and operational infrastructure.
The alliance symbolizes a transformation in Avis’ business model from a traditional rental company to a comprehensive provider of new mobility solutions. The cooperation with Waymo reinforces its presence in the transportation technology ecosystem.
