The UAE marine industry takes a firm step towards sustainability with the new partnership between Wärtsilä Marine and the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA). The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that establishes a framework for cooperation to drive the energy transition in the maritime sector, through clean technologiesspecialized training and digital solutions.

Technical and training collaboration towards a cleaner industry

The partnership seeks to combine the technological expertise of Wärtsilä with ADMA’s educational capacity to develop key competencies in maritime sustainability. The signing of the MoU provides for an initial duration of five years and contemplates the possibility of extension based on the results obtained.

One of the central pillars of the alliance is the development of training programs aligned with the country’s climate objectives. The initiative includes technical training on energy efficiency, use of alternative fuels and digitalization of naval operations.
