Danish firm Ventherm A/S has been selected by Lamprell to lead an automation project in the surface treatment of offshore surface treatment of offshore componentsmarking a technical breakthrough in the production of structures for offshore wind energy.
Automated system for efficiency and adaptability
The project contemplates an integral solution based on industrial robotics that addresses the critical processes of critical processes of shot blasting and painting of transitional. These parts, essential in marine foundations, require meticulous preparation to withstand extreme conditions. The system includes:
- A Blastman robot for automated shot blast cleaning
- A painting robot integrated into a 140-meter long booth
- A turnkey heavy industrial coatings package
- Automatic programming to adapt to variable geometries
This configuration allows to increase productivity, maintain consistent quality and optimize the use of materials.
A sustainable and scalable production model
Lamprell plans to incorporate this technology at its facility in Hamriyah, United Arab Emirates, where the system is expected to be operational in 2026. This step responds to the growing global demand for clean and durable energy solutions and durable energy solutions, and reinforces the company’s strategy of technology integration in mass production processes.
