The Gjøa Nord, Cerisa and Ofelia discoveries contain up to 110 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Conectarán nuevos yacimientos a la plataforma Gjøa

Progress on the Gjøa Nord, Cerisa and Ophelia discoveries is picking up speed thanks to an agreement between Vår Energi and TechnipFMC. The two companies have entered into a collaboration agreement to execute subsea projects through an integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) model.

Cooperation to develop new subsea fields

Vår Energi, on behalf of the licensees in the subsea discoveries, and subsea discoveries in the Gjøa in the Gjøa area, has entered into this alliance to jointly implement the work on the subsea subsea production systems (SPS) (SPS) and umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) work.

This North Sea region represents a strategic location for the Norwegian company, which plans to coordinate the simultaneous development of the three discoveries, with a combined estimate of up to 110 million barrels of oil equivalent. Connecting these resources to the existing infrastructure of the Gjøa platform will maximize synergies and operational efficiency.

The choice of TechnipFMC is not accidental. Its experience on the Norwegian continental shelf and its track record in offshore offshore executions were decisive factors for the Norwegian oil company. Chief Operating Officer Torger Rød emphasized that the objective of the agreement is to shorten lead times and improve the competitiveness of the development by optimizing the engineering, procurement and installation phases.

Horizon 2026 and commitment to efficiency

The investment decision by the partners is scheduled for 2026. In the meantime, the joint work will allow maturing the discoveries with a long-term vision and sustainability. The agreement has an initial duration of five years and contemplates possible extensions.

License partners involved include Petoro, Harbour Energy, OKEA, Pandion Energy, DNO, AkerBP, ORLEN, INPEX Idemitsu and Sval Energi, with Vår Energi as the lead operator in all key licenses.
