Boliden has highlighted the positive alliance between ABB and Epiroc that has lasted three years, highlighting both the immediate benefit to Boliden’s operations, as well as the potential to adapt this technology at other mines. This collaboration focuses on practical implementation, and on promoting technological development in the mining sector .

The project highlights the growing importance of critical minerals , necessary for the transition to clean energy, with demand that could increase towards 2030. Boliden plans to expand the application of this technology at the Rävliden mine, where the autonomous electric trolley system is expected to contribute to future Swedish mining projects.
