Torex Gold has achieved a major breakthrough at its Media Luna project in Mexico with first copper concentrate production . This achievement follows the successful completion of a complex interconnection period at its processing plant, a process that involved 83 interconnections and the commissioning of 136 independent systems. This progress underscores Torex’s ability to execute projects with precision and efficiency.
Copper concentrate production marks a new phase
The mining project, part of Torex’s Morelos Complex , has been a key element in the company’s expansion strategy. With commercial copper production on the horizon, Torex expects increased ore production in the coming months . This progress also marks the beginning of a new phase for the company, which seeks to diversify its production from being a gold-only producer to incorporating copper into its portfolio.
Torex has set ambitious goals for the near future. The processing plant, which is in an advanced stage, will allow for a capacity of 7,500 tons per day by mid-2026. With an active drilling strategy, the company seeks to increase its reserves and ensure the continued growth of its mining assets.
