Carlos Suárez, is a Mechanical Engineer and specialist in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), with ASNT Level III certifications in UT, RT, MT, VT, PT and ISO 9712 Level 3 UT, PAUT, TOFD. Suárez is an expert in the NDT field with more than two decades of experience.
Currently, he works as director of Integrity & NDT Solutions, a company that manages the highest quality standards in the execution of conventional and advanced Non-Destructive Testing, use of clean technologies and specialized technical advice, additionally they carry out training, qualification and certification of personnel in different END techniques through its virtual and face-to-face academy.
In this episode, Suárez will talk about the conventional ultrasound technique, the improvements, opportunities and challenges that NDTs face, with the implementation in the industry of technology 4.0. He will also explain the new technologies that are being used to detect failure mechanisms in systems in service, the technological advances that the IRIS (Internal Rotating Inspection System) technique has had for tube bundle inspections and the efficiency obtained in the results. by combining the TFM (Total Focusing Method) and TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction Technique) techniques during an inspection.
