ANYbotics’ ANYmal robot was put to the test of its unprecedented endurance after facing severe flooding at one of its customer’s facilities. For days, the robot was submerged in water and mud, putting its IP67 certification to the test, which protects it in demanding industrial environments , but not under such extreme circumstances.
ANYmal robot survived and was left “as if nothing had happened”
When the water level returned to normal, the ANYbotics team retrieved the robot , which was buried in the mud. Despite the harshness of the situation, turning ANYmal back on brought it back to life, as shown in the video below. The cooling fan worked properly, its legs moved, and it stood up, ready to continue operating.
