According to Víctor Bronstein, Director of the Petroleum and Gas Institute of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA): “The profile of the petroleum engineer has evolved following the complexity of the petroleum activity in its different activities.”
The scope of new technologies in the development of oil activity throughout the world is impressive. The energy task has become more complex.
According to the engineer Víctor Bronstein, Director of Oil and Gas at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), “the oil industry has reached a degree of sophistication and use of new technologies that requires trained professionals.”
In Bronstein’s words, the most advanced training for professionals in this field “is in oil-importing countries such as the US, France or China, which have companies that expand throughout the world providing technology, professional training and of investment to develop the hydrocarbon resources where they are found”.
Therefore, the petroleum engineer deserves to transcend his area of specialty and incorporate his work in a more humanized way, integrated into the field of finance, economics, anthropology and history.
The new challenge for educational institutions that train this professional is to enhance in him the skills for complex performance, where he exercises his activity, with an idea of the social and human context in which he operates. This will make your professional work more assertive at the height of the competitive dynamics of the current oil industry.
