The origin of a successful coating project was revealed at the XVII SLOM Conference

Within the framework of the XVII Seminar of Operators of Oil Maritime Terminals and Monobuoys, held from November 10 to 12 in Cartagena de Indias, Ing. Camilo Zambrano from the Colombian company ZH Ingenieros SAS offered the conference “The origin of a successful coatings project”.

According to Zambrano, the origin of the project starts with the proper design of a specification. Its fundamental objective is to describe the scope of the work and the requirements of the project, and clearly indicate the details for its adequate execution.

During his lecture, he described the types, major components, and common pitfalls of a specification for a coatings project.

“The design of the coating specification must include all the necessary aspects and requirements to be considered before the start of the project with all the relevant related factors. With the participation of the parties that play an important role from the conception of the project, design stage, execution and useful life of the asset, it will be possible to give rise to a successful coating project”, Zambrano pointed out.
