Under the command of Captain MA XunMin and sponsored by Dorothée Regazzoni of BNP Paribas, this vessel joins a series of twelve next-generation units built at the HD Hyundai Samho shipyards.

Likewise, integrating this technology helps reduce the environmental footprint on one of the world’s most dynamic routes. The vessel is a logistics asset, representing the technical execution of a decarbonization plan aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

After connecting the points of the M2X service, the CMA CGM Osmium will boost the flow of goods to Mexico’s Pacific ports. The dual-combustion engines used by this giant can run on either methanol or conventional fuels, providing the operational flexibility needed while the global supply infrastructure for green methanol continues to mature.

Finally, the company’s commitment to modernizing its owned fleet—now exceeding 400 vessels—is evident with this delivery. Integrating the Osmium into the M2X service improves transpacific connectivity and positions Mexico as a key hub in the low-carbon transport network.
