TGS has been selected to lead a new offshore wind site characterization contract in Norwegian waters. This award includes comprehensive services for the acquisition, imaging and interpretation of high-resolutionseismic data, essential for the efficient development of offshore wind farms.

Seismic characterization service

To conduct this campaign, TGS will deploy the Ramform Vanguard, a seismic vessel equipped with patented UHR3D technology specifically designed to capture detailed images of shallow subsurface targets.

Simultaneously to the field work, the data processing and interpretation stage will be initiated, which will allow minimizing delivery times. The final results are expected to be available to the client during the first quarter of 2026.

We are very pleased to have signed another offshore wind farm characterization contract in Northern Europe, extending our procurement campaign in the region by almost a month.

We are seeing strong customer acceptance of our high-quality geophysical approach to mapping shallower subsurface targets, facilitating data-driven decision making for offshore wind farm development.

Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS.

This technical approach and the ability to integrate geophysical sensors with state-of-the-art acquisition techniques make this campaign a reference for future marine characterizations in Europe.
