AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab and SEB, together with Wallenberg Investments, have joined together in a consortium to develop a next-generation AI infrastructure powered by NVIDIA.

New AI infrastructure powered by NVIDIA

The initial phase of the project involves the installation of two NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD systems with Grace Blackwell GB300 chips, high-performance components designed for advanced artificial intelligence workloads.

The system will become Sweden’s “most powerful enterprise supercomputer” and is intended to accelerate innovation and important scientific developments in the country. This supercomputer is capable of executing complex processes such as training of foundational models and large-scale algorithmic reasoning.

The system will be managed by a consortium joint venture, which will guarantee sovereign and secure access to the computing capacity. All this to ensure that Swedish industries have a critical infrastructure, without relying on external resources, in line with the national goals of technological security and long-term competitiveness.

Each company within the consortium will use this infrastructure with objectives aligned to their strategies. For example, AstraZeneca will focus its efforts on accelerating the discovery of new drugs with AI-based models. Ericsson will use the resources to develop more efficient networks and explore new business models.

On the other hand, Saab will apply artificial intelligence in the design and validation of advanced defense systems. And finally, SEB will leverage the system’s capabilities to improve its banking processes and customer services through automated and intelligent proposals.

As part of the project, NVIDIA will open its first AI Technology Center in Sweden. This space will have the mission to promote applied research and specialized training. Through the Deep Learning Institute, courses and hands-on activities will be offered to enhance the skills of local talent and foster a permanent innovation ecosystem.
