The company Subsea7 has strengthened its position as a partner in Türkiye’s energy infrastructure after receiving a major contract award from Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center.
The award of the offshore project in the Sakarya field
This operation is defined as an extension of the previously established contractual relationship and focuses specifically on the development of the Goktepe field. The significance of this agreement lies in the technical interconnection of this new reservoir with the Phase 3 floating production unit of the Sakarya field.
The project requires the installation of approximately 20 km of flexible pipelines and 120 km of umbilicals at an operating depth of up to 2,200 m. Likewise, the installation of a rigid production riser will ensure efficient resource extraction in a geographically highly complex environment.
David Bertin, Senior Vice President of Subsea7’s Global Projects East Center, expressed the company’s pride in continuing to support TP-OTC’s goals in the region. The integration of the Goktepe field will enable a substantial increase in gas flow through the existing Phase 3 facilities.
Offshore activities are scheduled to begin between 2027 and 2028, marking a clear roadmap for expanding extraction capacity in the Black Sea. Hulya Ozgur, Business Unit Director, mentioned that this long-term relationship with TP-OTC adds value to the growth of the local industry.
