During the PANNDT 2025 event, Jeremy Ring, president of SONASPECTION, shared in an interview the technological and strategic pillars that have strengthened the company as a benchmark in the development of defective specimens for non-destructive testing(NDT) training.

Innovative NTD technologies

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, SONASPECTION divides its global operations between the United States and the United Kingdom to ensure worldwide coverage. In addition, its presence at the event serves one main purpose: to connect with customers, anticipate industry trends and continue to contribute to the technical development of the industry.

Moreover, the company’s ability to ensure reproducibility and reliability of failures in specimens used in ultrasonic and radiographic testing. According to Ring, the procedure perfected since 1980, allows them to control flaws within margins of just 15 thousandths of an inch, through highly specialized welders and patented techniques, which ensure realistic and high quality training.

The company also highlighted the strength of its quality assurance system, based on the ISO 9001 standard. ISO 9001 and standards such as those of EPRI, which enables them to meet complex requirements such as ISO 9712 and ASNT certifications .

If we can make them happy, we can make any customer happy.

Ring mentioned.

From defects for the nuclear industry to corrosion simulations on specific structures, the company uses technologies such as 3D laser scanning and CNC machining to recreate field conditions with high accuracy.

In addition, Ring shared that the continuous development of their products relies heavily on direct feedback from customers and training institutions. This active listening allows them to adapt the complexity of defects to the emerging needs of the industry, keeping their solutions at the forefront.
