The SLB OneSubsea joint venture, which specializes in subsea technology, has been selected by Equinor to carry out the upgrade of the subsea compression system in the Gullfaks field in the North Sea. The new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract involves the delivery of two compressor modules to replace those originally installed in 2015.
These new systems will increase the differential pressure and improve the production flow rate, resulting in higher hydrocarbon recovery. hydrocarbon recovery recovery and significantly extend the life of the reservoir. Integration of the modules into existing infrastructure will minimize operational downtime and optimize subsea campaign costs.
