RIC Energy and the Siemens technology group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop projects in the field of renewable hydrogen, green ammonia and e-fuels. This alliance reinforces the industrial deployment of clean technologies in Spain, focusing on two key initiatives: Compostilla Green in León and the Besaya project in Cantabria.

Siemens promotes hydrogen in Spain

The agreement includes the participation of several Siemens Group entities, including Siemens SA, Industry Software, Financial Services and Innovation Strategies. All of them will contribute technical and financial capabilities to the development of these advanced energy infrastructures, with an emphasis on digital solutions, operational efficiency and process decarbonization.

For its part, Compostilla Green has been recognized by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) as the best valued proposal within the Hydrogen Valleys program. It is a plant oriented to the production of sustainable fuel for aviation. sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) (SAF), whose impact extends to local employment and industrialization of the region of El Bierzo.

An alliance for a decarbonized industrial economy

The Besaya projectproject, located in Torrelavega, is also part of this joint strategy. Both developments seek to position Spain as a European reference in the production and export of hydrogen and synthetic fuels. synthetic fuels. derivatives.

The companies are making progress in defining vertical consortia schemes that allow for an integrated execution of each project. In addition, they have planned a shared communication strategy to highlight the socioeconomic impact of these technologies in the country’s energy transition process.

With this cooperation, Siemens and RIC Energy consolidate a common roadmap towards a more decarbonized, digital and resilient economy from the Spanish industrial energy sector.
