Sea-Cargo and Norsepower continue their collaboration in maritime transport with two more RoRos

The collaboration between Sea-Cargo and Norsepower continues, as both companies work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency in their maritime operations, with the goal of positioning themselves as leaders in the use of green technologies.

New RoRo ships and their propulsion technologies

Sea-Cargo is modernizing two of its RoRo vessels, the MV Trans Hav and the MV Trans Sol , with the installation of advanced Norsepower Rotor Sails , a proven technology for reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The vessels are 165 meters long and operate primarily between Norway and mainland Europe, benefiting from three Norsepower rotor sails measuring 24 x 4 meters each.

With the incorporation of this technology, Sea-Cargo expects to reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%, contributing to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency. Norsepower Rotor Sails technology has proven efficient in extreme conditions, such as those found in the North Sea, one of the most challenging environments for navigation.

The collaboration between Sea-Cargo and Norsepower

Sea-Cargo ‘s experience with the SC Connector , the first vessel in the fleet to be fitted with rotor sails, has been positive, achieving fuel savings of between 20% and 25% on average, with some voyages achieving fuel savings of up to 70%.
