Subsidiary TotalEnergies EP Suriname BV has entrusted SBM Offshore with the operation and maintenance of the FPSO GranMorgu, the floating unit that will lead the development of Block 58 in deepwater Suriname.
GranMorgu FPSO platform and Fast4Ward technology
This contract includes operational readiness services prior to first oil and extends for at least two years of operations after the start of production. It also includes optional extensions, demonstrating TotalEnergies ‘ confidence in the technical and operational capabilities of SBM Offshore. SBM Offshore.
The GranMorgu platform will be the eighth unit based on the Fast4Ward MPF design, which minimizes lead times and optimizes operations. This technology is planned for complex offshore operations, making the unit a strategic asset for Block 58, one of the most promising discoveries in the region.
Block 58 is located off the country’s Atlantic coast, an answer for TotalEnergies as part of its transition strategy towards cleaner and more sustainable energy production. SBM Offshore will contribute its expertise in asset management, combining technical efficiency with operational sustainability.
This contract strengthens the collaboration between the two companies as major players in the Latin American region. The experience gained in other global projects is now transferred to Suriname, where the GranMorgu platform becomes a starting point for new opportunities within the regional offshore sector.
