Saudi Arabia took a new step in its clean energy leadership strategy by consolidating key partnerships with European companies for the development of renewable energy and green hydrogen export projects. green hydrogen.

The signing of these agreements, in the presence of Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman, took place during a specialized workshop organized by ACWA Power in Riyadh.

Clean energy projects in Saudi Arabia

During the meeting, memorandums of understanding were established with companies such as Edison SpA, TotalEnergies, Zhero Europe and EnBW. These agreements define a framework for collaboration to assess European market demand and develop large-scale projects aimed at supplying clean energy from the Kingdom to Europe.

In addition to commercial agreements, commitments were signed with technical and technological firms such as CESI, Prysmian, GE Vernova, Siemens Energy and Hitachi. The objective: to develop advanced power transmission corridors that guarantee supply stability and improve the efficiency of regional and international networks.

These corridors are part of the Saudi vision to integrate as a key node in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), leveraging its location to connect East and West through sustainable energy infrastructure.

Yanbu projects itself as green hydrogen hub

A focal point of the cooperation is the joint development of the Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub. Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub. ACWA Power and EnBW are collaborating on this first phase of the project, which will be operational by 2030. The hub will include in-house renewable energy generation, desalination plants, hydrogen electrolysis, conversion to ammonia and a dedicated export terminal.

The holding of the workshop and the signing of these agreements confirm the Kingdom’s commitment to its Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a reliable supplier of clean energy exports and a key player in international logistics integration, particularly in the context of IMEC.
