During the SLOM Conference in Punta del Este, Uruguay, Marcus Ginten, Group Business Line Manager for Challenging Inspections at Rosen Group, gave a detailed overview of his company’s role in the oil and gas industry, as well as its approach to the energy transition.

Ginten explained that Rosen Group, with more than 40 years of industry experience, has established itself as a key partner in ensuring the performance of its clients’ critical assets around the world. The company offers an extensive portfolio of services that includes risk assessment, inspection, and future integrity assessments, highlighting its ability to perform rigorous inspections under API 1163 standard, a factor that significantly differentiates them from their competitors.

One of the key topics addressed by Ginten was the importance of robotic inspections in challenging infrastructure, a key aspect of his presentation during the conference. In his talk, Ginten presented two case studies in which inspections performed by Rosen revealed significant differences in data quality compared to those of its competitors, highlighting the importance of following strict processes to ensure reliable results.

Rosen’s involvement in the energy transition is another of the company’s key pillars. Ginten noted that, with a focus on hydrogen-related pipelines and assets, the company is leveraging its expertise in the oil and gas industry to develop technologies that facilitate the transition to cleaner energy. He also highlighted efforts at its hydrogen laboratory in Lingen, Germany, where tests are underway to improve crack detection technology in preparation for the challenges posed by the use of hydrogen in today’s infrastructure.

Finally, Ginten underlined Rosen’s commitment not only as an inspection company, but also as a partner in developing innovative solutions together with its customers. With a robust investment in research and development, the company works closely with its partners to create tailor-made technologies when standard solutions are not available in the market.

Over the next five years, Rosen Group has a vision of expanding its presence in the South American market, where it already has offices in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Bogota. The company expects to continue to be a key player in the energy transition, supporting its clients in the management and care of their critical assets.

With this combination of innovation, technical rigor and collaboration, Rosen continues to establish itself as a global leader in the energy inspection and integrity management industry.
