The project, which will last until 2032, will consist of the renovation of eight generation units, the improvement of the hydraulic infrastructure, the installation of new electrical and mechanical equipment, and the adaptation of a spillway to operate in winter conditions. The Isle-Maligne power plant has been an essential component of Rio Tinto’s industrial electrification strategy for a century.
