Poland has taken a significant step forward in the field of space science and technology with the successful launch of the Eagle Eye satellite. This event marks a crucial breakthrough for the country, highlighting Poland’s growing capability in space missions. The satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, thanks to a collaboration with SpaceX.

The Eagle Eye project, which started in April 2020, is the result of a joint effort of a consortium led by Creotech Instruments S.A., in collaboration with Scanway Sp. z o.o. and the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The satellite, entirely designed in Poland, is expected to operate for at least a year, starting its orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers and gradually descending to 350 kilometers.
