Plenitude has begun construction of a 90 MW renewable energy solar plant in Fortuna, a region of Murcia. The facility will cover 120 hectares and increase renewable energy production in Spain.
The 90 MW solar plant in Murcia
The solar plant will feature 150,000 bifacial modules and solar tracking technology , optimizing energy capture. With an estimated annual production of more than 185,000 MWh, the infrastructure will supply thousands of homes with green electricity.
For its connection, a 6-km underground medium-voltage line and a 30/132 kV substation will be implemented, ensuring efficient integration into the electrical grid. Furthermore, the project will incorporate measures to preserve biodiversity , with the installation of hotels for pollinating insects and refuges for native species, as well as the management of a 160-hectare area for the protection of birds of prey and small amphibians.
The plant will operate with a battery system that will power the camp and auxiliary facilities using renewable sources, avoiding the use of fuels during the construction phases.
The project is being developed by Negratin , one of Spain’s leading renewable energy companies, in collaboration with international solar technology manufacturers. This initiative adds to Plenitude ‘s presence in the Region of Murcia, where it operates the 50 MW Cerrillares plant, recognized with the Certificate of Excellence in Sustainability .
The company currently manages 950 MW of solar and wind energy in Spain, while advancing the construction of an additional 1,200 MW. With projects in regions such as Galicia , La Rioja , Castilla-La Mancha , and Andalusia , Plenitude maintains its commitment to the environment by implementing renewable energy.
