Plagazi has consolidated its position in the European hydrogen ecosystem with the official signing of a 29.5 million euro grant from the European Union’s Innovation Fund. This non-dilutive financial support is earmarked for the implementation of the “Gävle Circular Park” project, which will convert non-recyclable waste into low-carbon hydrogen and captured liquid carbon dioxide.

The grant was awarded after the evaluation of 337 applications, with Plagazi’s project being one of the 85 selected. The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency(CINEA) endorsed the initiative for its ability to minimize pollutant emissions in industrial and transport sectors.

The project will use Plagazi’s patented process together with plasma gasification technology developed by InEnTec. This integration will make it possible to treat waste that cannot be recycled by current methods, generating hydrogen that can be integrated into clean energy grids and contribute to European climate targets.

The signing of the grant is very gratifying after a very collaborative preparation process with CINEA.

This non-dilutive financing arrangement will be a great asset in attracting private financing now.

Soran Shwan, executive director of Plagazi.

The initiative in Gävle is emerging as a circular circular economy modelby harnessing difficult-to-manage waste to produce clean energy. With this project, the company aims to strengthen its position as a benchmark for sustainable gasification-based solutions in line with the EU’s plans for a decarbonized future.
