Pipistrel has announced the successful inaugural hover flight of the Nuuva V300 , a hybrid-electric cargo drone designed for long-range logistics operations, with capabilities for freight transport and emergency missions.

The Nuuva V300 from Pipistrel and its technical advances

The Nuuva V300 is a hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft, capable of vertical takeoff and landing. This model is designed to carry up to 270 kg of payload on journeys of up to 480 km, and seeks to improve air logistics, allowing fast and efficient deliveries in hard-to-reach areas.

Through its zero-emission propulsion system , the drone integrates self-developed batteries with an efficient combustion engine to maximize its autonomy and operational flexibility. In addition, its cargo cabin of more than 30 cubic meters can accommodate pallets or loose merchandise, adapting to multiple commercial and humanitarian needs.

This innovative unmanned aerial system ( UAS ) is designed to optimize industrial and commercial logistics, while having great potential in search and rescue missions, humanitarian assistance and response to natural disasters .

We are delighted to witness the first flight of the Nuuva V300, a demonstration of our leadership in emerging technology and advanced air mobility, as well as our commitment to multi-purpose aviation solutions.

Kriya Shortt, president of Textron eAviation.

The first flight of the Nuuva demonstrates Pipistrel’s strength in electric propulsion and dedication to advancing the aviation industry through our active participation in research programs and our successful collaboration with regulatory agencies, including our recent operational authorization from the Italian Civil Air Authority ( ENAC ).

Gabriel Massey, President and CEO of Pipistrel.

The Nuuva V300 features a triple-redundant fly-by-wire flight control system developed by Honeywell, ensuring safe and automated operation. Its remote navigation is managed from a ground control station, designed in collaboration with Textron Systems , enabling autonomous flights beyond visual line of sight ( BVLOS ).
