Paracel SA will build the world’s most modern pulp mill in Paraguay

The company Paracel SA will soon build a pulp mill in the free zone in Concepción, projecting an investment of 3,200 million dollars.

This mega project already has the decree, the concession and exploitation of the site, as well as the approval of the Investors Council, made up of different government entities and is the largest private investment in the country’s history.

The plant will have a world-class biorefinery system, sustainable supply plantations and will be self-sufficient in generating energy from biomass.

They plan to start with a heritage of 150 thousand hectares of their own land, in which 60% will be used to plant eucalyptus and 40% will be a protected area, estimating the production of 1.5 million tons of cellulose per year for export to Europe, United States and Asia.

Last September the company started the training of the first group of operators, made up of 192 students who are receiving technical training for the production of cellulose, according to the company’s press release, the goal is to train a total of 350 people who will then go through a selection process to join the team.

Cellulose is an organic biomolecule, found in the walls of plant cells, it is considered a natural polymer and is used in the manufacture of paper, cardboard, artificial wood, natural fibers, artificial silk or celluloid, thermal insulation and acoustic, varnish, among other uses.
